Dandavat Pranams.
We would like to submit a short report on the activities of HH Jayapataka
Swami Gurumaharaja for the last few days while he is been taking care at
the Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Bombay with new system of therapies that
includes more intensive systems.
The main activity of this week was obviously the Gaurpurnima festival, as
you all may have read in my previous report HH JPS was at Juhu temple for
this most auspicious occasion of the appearance of Lord Caitanya, but for
the last Sunday HH JPS had a special invitation for a program in New Bombay
organized by the Namahatta preaching group that was on March 15th 2009.
This day had a special feature in its program as Gurumaharaja was invited to
go to have swimming therapies in a Club nearby called Eskay Resort, invited
by the main physiotherapist of the Bhaktivedanta Hospital Dr. Chaku, as he
is member of this club. The pool coach who was assisting is Mr. Surendra
Almost 10 devotees went with GM and were impressed by the standards of this
Pyramid shaped club that had al facilities. Seems all were very happy to
provide GM with these new therapies that are going to strengthen more the
muscles of his back and legs. The devotees were very much satisfied to see
GM been able with little support to walk inside the pool and even float on
his back as it was the first time he had this opportunity from the October
23rd 2008 the day of the stroke. He used special lenses for this to protect
his eyes. He could walk with the help of devotees in a slow way to the place
to take shower after swimming and go the men lockers area to change his
clothes.
In fact it was programmed to take him the previous weekend but was not
possible due to his giving lecture at Mira Road temple.
As we mentioned earlier Gurumaharaja was scheduled to assist to a special
Gaurpurnima program in New Bombay called Nerul organized by the BASE ashram
devotees under HG Ramgiridhari Prabhu, who is a software engineer disciple
of our Gurumaharaja.
The program included a very nice performance by the children of the
congregational devotees that also recited slokas and Bengali bhajans on
Caitanya Mahaprabhu as it was the celebration of His appearance day although
it was four days after the main celebration. After that HG Braj hari prabhu
delivered a lecture on the bhajan Sri Krsna Caitanya Prabhu doya kora more.
In between his lecture HH JPS Gurumaharaja arrived and was greeted with the
rituals offered to the spiritual master, with flower petals showered on Him,
lamps, etc.
After GM came with help of devotees to the second floor and straight for
the official program that started with Abhisheka to the Sri Sri Gaurnitai
Deities.
Gurumaharaja after the Abhisheka and arati he delivered a very touching
lecture on the appearance of The Supreme Lord and how He manifested Himself
first to Jagannath Misra as a light in his mind, then transferred Himself to
His father’s heart and then from Jagannath Misra’s heart The Lord was
transferred to the heart of Sachi Mata. (Amazing and unconceivable stories
of the Lord). After sometime Jagannath Misra found out that his wife was
pregnant. Much more transcendental stories were narrated on the hidden
pastimes behind this transcendental advent of the Golden Avatar.
After the lecture there was the darsan of the Deities, then was Gaura Arati
then HH JPS took group photos will all. At the end was honoring Prasad, then
back to BVH.
At the BVH HH JPS got a special ayurvedic Abhyanga (medicated oil massage)
and then Steam bath, the process takes almost 3 hours and sometiems 4. then
he went for fruit prasad and took rest in his room.
I am back in Bombay and will send a new report on my visit to the
Bhaktivedanta Hospital to see HH JPS.
