All glories to Guru Maharaja!
After few days spent in Mayapur Dham, Guru Maharaja arrived in Hyderabad (in
Andhra Pradesh state of India) on 19. October. Local devotees found an
appartment for him just next to the temple, in a building with an elevator,
on a second floor. He’s staying there with his secretary Maha Varaha Prabhu
and doctor Acyutananda Prabhu, while other servants are accomodated in the
temple Guest House. Appartment is nice and clean, has a kitchen and all
needful fascilities.
Every morning after breakfast Guru Maharaja is attending physiotherapy in a
Government Hospital. This hospital has very basic set up of physiotherapy
department, but doctors are very good and very personal with the patients.
There are 5 doctors attending Guru Maharaja at a time.
After 1 and half hours of physitherapy treatment Guru Maharaja is coming
back to the appartment for his lunch. After luch he has a short nap after
which he goes to the acupressure treatment. This treatment is the main
reason why he has come in Hyderabad. It’s a special type of massage by
pressing the points on the nadis or meridians of the body, for making nerves
work again and for removing blockeges in flow of energy through the nadis (a
very short description). The therapyst who is treating Guru Maharaja has 14
years of expirience, and the knowledge inherited from 36 previous
generations of massage experts in the same familly line (since 16th
century). There are many cases of people who were paralized and got
completely cured by this therapyst, including some of our ISKCON devotees.
The therapyst is very strickt in his demands to the patients, so Guru
Maharaja has to exersize a lot by himself. Yesterday he was eating all the
meals by himself, without any help of the servants, he was standing almost
half an hour without any support, and he was dressing himself. This happen
for the first time in his recovery program!
After the accupressure therapy Guru Maharaja goes to one private club and
has hydrotherapy with his servants in the swiming pool for 1 hour. Then he
returns to the appartment and has his dinner. Then he goes to the temple to
offer the lapms the Deities and gives a class. Ussualy it’s 8pm when he
starts his evening lecture.
On Srila Prabhupada disapearance day was the exeption, he gave lecture in
the morning too. He was recollecting many of his memories of Srila
Prabhupada and pastimes that he had with Srila Prabhupada. He was mentioning
about his mother getting the association of Srila Prabhupada and how Srila
Prabhupada was personaly preaching to her. He was talking about importance
of book distribution and of taking up this preaching mission very seriously.
He was talking about Srila Prabhupada’s visit to Hyderabad. The present
temple in Hyderabad was opened by Srila Prabhupada himself, and he personaly
installed the Deities of Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, Sri Sri Radha-Madana-mohana,
and Sri Jagannatha-Sri Baladeva and Srimati Subhadra Devi.
Today, on 24. October, Guru Maharaja went to Vishakapatnam to spend the
weekend there.
