10-Oct-09, Diary of GM

After the morning breakfast Guru Maharaja went to the temple to have darshan

of the Deities and to offer lamps. Rasapriya Gopika dd, our godsister

thoughtfully had brought some roses for Guru Maharaja to offer to Srila

Prabhupada.

Bhaktin Smita has also come from Mira Road, Mumbai to have darshan of Guru

Maharaja. She has been missing Guru Maharaja since he had left Mumbai 6

months ago. She took shelter from Guru Maharaja in January at Bhaktivedanta

Hospital and she regularly used to come to sing for Guru Maharaja while he

was taking his dinner prasad.

After having darshan of the Deities Guru Maharaja went to attend the Mayapur

GBCom and GBC EC meetings. Guru Maharaja attended both the morning and

afternoon sessions.

At 7.00pm, Guru Maharaja was having his dinner. Some Bengali brahmacaris,

Dhanya Nimai prabhu and our godsister, Pujya Visnupriya dd who is a

journalist were singing Hare Krsna mantra for Guru Maharaja. Vrajesvara

Gaura prabhu from Coimbatore was serving and helping Guru Maharaja for his

dinner.

Maha Varaha prabhu wanted to do face therapy after the dinner. Guru Maharaja

seemed really tired and Maha Varaha prabhu asked Guru Maharaja to take rest.

But Guru Maharaja wanted to walk outside his room for a while. As he was

walking, he was trying to read the names printed on the doors of the

different devotees rooms. He cannot read from far distance and also he said

it was a bit blury, still he managed to read the names. When he had made 111

steps he almost reached the end of the pathway and then some devotees

suggested he goes back to his room in the wheel chair as he needs to take

rest but Guru Maharaja decided to walk back to his room. After the meetings

he had already made 220 steps before the dinner.

As he was walking back (with the help of two devotees) Jahnava Mataji from

Taiwan opened the door and she was so surprised to see Guru Maharaja by the

door. Guru Maharaja asked her why she and her husband didn’t come to meet

him as they said they would come to meet him regularly. She had got some flu

and she had asked her husband, Ekacakra prabhu to inform Guru Maharaja. Guru

Maharaja replied, “We have heart to heart connection. Supersoul brought me

to see you. I was looking for your room as you mentioned you are nearby my

room but since there was no name mentioned I didn’t know in which room you

were.” He inquired if she already took medicines or if he should arrange to

bring some medicines. Guru Maharaja anyway asked Maha Varaha prabhu to give

some of his Vitamin C (natural) to her. Guru Maharaja always thinks of

others welfare and cares for them.

Guru Maharaja also was conversing with one other devotee who had come to see

him. She is Kunjarani, a postgraduate in communications. She also does

documentary films. Guru Maharaja remembered her and as well as her

profession. She was surprised of Guru Maharaja’s memory. She is also

aspiring to take initiation from Guru Maharaja. Her parents are devotees and

her uncle and his family in Bahrain are aspiring devotees of Guru Maharaja.

Guru Maharaja had walked in total 440 steps before and after dinner. While

he was waiting for milk we read two letters to him for which he replied

after drinking the milk. I had suggested that he could reply tomorrow but

Guru Maharaja wanted to reply. It was 9.30 pm when Guru Maharaja went to

take rest.

Sometimes the meetings are generally heavy so Guru Maharaja feels relaxed

when he meets with the devotees and hears the letters of the devotees

(positive ones especially). Some kind of balance should be there of course –

his mood, health, time, rest etc.

Your humble servant,

Ratnavali dd
