Diary of HH Jayapataka Swami on 28-02-2009
Dear devotees.
Dandavat pranams.
The Sri Navadwipa Mandal Parikram started to move from Mayapur, as you all
know yesterday was the official inauguration at Sri Yoga Pita with speeches
from all the senior devotees present. Today as it is its second day for the
international parkiram and the first day for the Bengali Parikram in the
sense that yesterday night they had their inaugural speech program with the
presence and blessings of HH Subhag Swami and HH Jayapataka Swami at the
Namahatta Bhavan been the chief host HH Gauranga Prema Swami as I commented
in my last report.
The special thing today was that HH Jayapataka Swami Gurumaharaja, been
active as If his health is normal, went to join the devotees at the very
holy place of Narasimha Pali, where the supreme Lord Protector of the
devotees washed his hands after killing the demon Hiranyakasipu. We went
with GM total like 18 people in his tempo van to this very sacred place. We
reached few minutes ahead of the international parikram group which is
leaded by HH Lokanath Swami and HH Gopal Krsna Goswami, Also there were
present their holinesses Prahladananda Swami, Bhakti Caitanya Swami, Bhakti
Vrajendranandana Swami, Bhaktisidhanta Swami, Bhakti Dhira Damodara Swami,
Bhakti Vasudeva Swami and other senior devotees.
We all went to take darsan of Lord Narasimha deva deity and we started
singing Narasimha prayers while the devotees arrived and set up the place
for a program. After few minutes all was arranged and the program started,
then after few minutes, GM arrived who was in the back side of the temple.
HH Jayapataka Swami was welcomed by HH Lokanath swami and was given the
chance to deliver his speech before as he had to go and join the Bengali
Parikram at Sri Jagannath Mandir at Rajpur.
Gurumaharaja explained about the place that is been developed by the
Bhaktivedanta Swami Charity Trust, he mentioned that the project manager for
this restoration of the holy place was under HH Subhag Swami and that he is
the chairman of the BSCT. HH JPS added this is the place where the pastime
of Lord Narasimha deva happened after killing the great demon Hiranyakasipu
since the <lord came to wash his hands, but there is an other story behind
it, it is that in Navadwipa dham the Lord is easier to be approached, and
since Narasimha Bhagavan was in an angry mood the devas were afraid to
approach him, so it had to happen here in the most merciful place where His
Lordship was approached first by Prahlad as you all know the story. Many
devas were present at that time so it was also called Deva Pali. So this is
the glory also of the dham in making it easier for devotees to approach the
Lord.
After his speech GM left towards Rajpur to deliver a speech at Jagannath
Mandir. HH was received by the devotees amidst chantings of haribol, then
went to the altar and the pujari a part from garlanding GM he placed the
shoes of each deity on his head and on our heads also as we all got the
mercy by the blessings of our Gurumaharaja. Then GM did parikram around the
temple and after started giving his speech in Bengali. The topic for sure
was about the glories of the Parikram itself.
Later GM went to the Mayapur to have his lunch and rest. After he woke up
Gurumaharaja had some therapies then had group darsan to devotees as today
there were no Caitanya Lila class then His Holiness went for Elephant
procession with Radha Madhava small deities and offer arati in front of
Lotus Building, then went to take dinner while a very big group of
gurukulies were chanting bhajans.
At the end GM gave few more darsan and then was ready to take rest, a small
topic on the next small safari tour was discussed where devotees will go for
3 days to Bombay to be with GM and held few preaching programs and then to
Tirupati as HH JPS will go to Tirupati after Bhaktivedanta Hospital to be
few days with safari devotees and have darsan of Lord Balaji then back to
Mayapur for His 60th Sri Vyasapuja festival on Kamada ekadasi.
HH JPS is scheduled to leave tomorrow to Bombay, but will do it early
morning as he wants to join parikram devotees in Suvarna Bihar then go to
Habibpur for lunch then go to airport for early evening flight to Bombay for
treatment and physiotherapies for a month.
