25 Mar 09 – 2nd day of 2009 Safari tour at Bombay with HH JPS

2nd day of 2009 Safari tour at Bombay with HH JPS

Dear devotees,
Dandavat Pranams

All these days in Mumbai are very ecstatic and special for all the devotees
in general, not only for those who are for the safari tour that is
traditionally done by HH JPS Gurumaharaja after Gaurpurnima festival and his
Sri Vyasapuja every year for the last 20 years or more, although the safari
tours were started by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada in the 70’s that was
between Mayapur and Vrndaban after Gaurpurnima. This tradition was revived
by our Gurumaharaja and many other senior devotees in ISKCON. Back to our
report on the activities of HH JPS in Mumbai with the safari devotees that
officially started yesterday with the Festival of reciprocation from all the
worldwide disciples and well wishers of HH Jayapataka Swami towards the
devotees and institutions that have helped for the recovery of our beloved
Gurumaharaja. Mainly ISKCON JUHU Sri Sri Radha Rasbihari Mandir, the
Bhaktivedanta Hospital and the Mira Road Sri Sri Radha Giridhari Mandir.

Dear devotees,
Dandavat Pranams.

We are sending a short report on the main activities of HH JPS on 23rd and
24th of March 2009. As per 23rd it was a normal day with therapies for gm
but had a special point where Gurumaharaja as it is common on Monday gave a
lecture to the devotees and doctors of the Bhaktivedanta Hospital. He also
mentioned the he was not very happy to leave the hospital soon as he was
feeling always at home but one should not live all the time in hospitals,
but that now he is going to Tirupati and then to Mayapur for the 60th Sri
Vyasapuja celebration.

Dear Devotees,

Hare Krsna. Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila
Prabhupada. All glories to Srila Gurudeva.

Today Guru Maharaja was on his way to Juhu ISKCON temple and during his
vehical ride dictated the following report about himself through a phone
call. Shiromani mataji was repeating Guru Maharaja’s words as I took the
notes.

“My right side of the body is not fully paralysed but temporarily paralysed
and weak. Initially my right hand no feeling and now there is a little
feeling as a result of acupuncture, massage and occupational therapies.

15-Mar-09, Report by Teja Gaurangi dd

In the morning at around 10 am Guru Maharaja went to the swimming pool,
which is about 15 minutes drive from the hospital. He was taken for
physiotherapy in water and was accompanied by Dr Chacko (Bhaktivedanta
Hospital physiotherapist), Dr Acyutananda Prabhu and his servants. Guru
Maharaja was taken in 3 feet depth inside the water. He was able to float on
his back which strengthens his back muscles, and was able to walk in the
water with minimal support. He was in the pool for about half an hour. It
seems it was a good physiotherapy.

After the swimming pool Guru Maharaja went to New Bombay, for the
celebration of Gaura Purnima by the devotees there. With the help of a few
servants Guru Maharaja performed the aroti to Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai Deities,
and the part of the abisheka as well. After that he gave a class about the
appearence and childhood pastimes of Lord Caitanya. Then he took his
prasadam lunch cooked by few of his female disciples from South India,
coordinated by his his personal cook Ivesvara dasa. After lunch he gave
darshan to the devotees who came there.

your servant,
Teja Gaurangi dd
